WONDA DENISE CASE
Wonda Case, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away suddenly on March 7, 2026, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
Wonda was born in Hamiota on May 28, 1953, where she was raised during her early years. Wonda had many fond memories of her childhood and often spoke of the family bakery, riding with her friend on their horse to school, and spending summers at Clear Lake. After a brief move to Kamloops with her parents, the family returned to Brandon. Wonda would go on to study at both the Brandon Collegiate Institute and University of Brandon.
In 1972, Wonda began working at Plains Western Gas in Brandon where she met her husband, David, whom she married in 1974. Married life began in Carman before returning once again to Brandon, where their children Ian and Kylie were born. Wonda would also welcome the ultimate challenge for her affections, her miniature schnauzer Duke. From that point forward, the house was filled with laughter (and mischief) as she taught Duke to play hide and seek with her kids, at the expense of innumerable socks.
The family eventually settled in Winnipeg where Wonda initially worked as an Educational Assistant. Upon her retirement in 2010, she started her dream job as a full-time grandmother. Family meant everything to Wonda, and she demonstrated this daily through her devotion to her children and grandchildren. They had no greater cheerleader, whether in sport, art, work, school, or life.
Wonda will be remembered for her sense of humour, reliability, generosity, creativity, caring nature, and deep love for her family and friends. She had a remarkable gift for making friends with everyone she met, making each person feel like the most important in the world. Her warmth and ease in conversation drew people to her effortlessly, as if she had a gravitational pull of her own.
Wonda was predeceased by her parents, George and Brenda; and her brother, Barry. Wonda is survived by her husband, David; son, Ian (Sarah); daughter, Kylie; grandson, Zach; granddaughter, Mylah; brother, Wayne (Linda); and many extended family members and close friends.
A private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Wonda to CancerCare Manitoba, Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
